Kyle Walker and John Stones are two of Manchester City’s most experienced players.

Now though, after winning another Premier League title, the defensive duo are now playing key roles for England during the current 2024 European Championship in Germany.
After starting all three of the Three Lions’ group games of the tournament alongside Stones, Walker has now opened up about how close he is with his fellow City defender.

Featuring together in a recent video shared on the England YouTube channel, Walker had this to say about the significant period of time he’s been playing with Stones for club and country.
He said: “We have been through so much together. Since the moment I walked into City, he has been my best friend.
“He has looked after me so much, welcoming me into the team and everything like that. And we have leaned on each other both on and off the field for support.”

Across the seven years they’ve been at the Etihad Stadium together, Walker and Stones have appeared in 143 games together across all competitions, making them key players for the Citizens.
On the international stage, the duo have played in 50 senior England matches together, which highlights how important they are for Gareth Southgate’s side.
Now that the right-back, who Marc Guehi recently said has massively impressed him during the Euros, has shared how his City teammate has helped him on and off the pitch during their time together in Pep Guardiola’s side, this showcases how the 34-year-old has been able to be such a key figure for the Blues for such a long period of time.
