Lamine Yamal’s father, much like any Spanish supporter would have been delighted to witness his country reach the final of Euro 2024 after beating France 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Yamal’s incredible long-range equaliser would have made him feel incredibly proud as the 16-year-old continues to make a case for being one of the best young players the game has seen in recent memory.
Rodri, who captained the game after Alvaro Morata was taken off was seen in tears as he has the chance to be a part of a legendary Spain side if they beat England in the final on Sunday.
The £62.5 million man will be reunited with his teammates at Manchester City in Phil Foden, John Stones and Kyle Walker at the European Championship final but with the hope of leading Luis de la Fuente’s side to glory.

What Lamine Yamal’s father said about Rodri on Instagram
If Julian Alvarez’s Argentina side win the Copa America by beating Colombia in the final, City could have two players at the very minimum who would have tasted glory at the international stage.
Rodri has had an outstanding campaign in Germany, with Gary Neville stressing that if the Sky Blues midfielder and Fabian Ruiz are allowed to get on the ball, England could be in deep trouble in the final.
However, both the Spanish and the England players would be soaking in the fact that they are European finalists.
As Spain ground out a hard-fought victory against France, Yamal’s father took to Instagram to pose for a picture with Rodri that he captioned: “With the great Rodri.”
Rodri is the player to watch in Euro 2024 final between Spain and England
While both Spain and England have a wide array of brilliant attacking talent such as Yamal, Nico Williams, Foden and Jude Bellingham, the player to watch in the Euro 2024 is Rodri.
So far, one of the primary reasons why the Spaniards have won every game at the tournament is due to the 28-year-old’s presence in the middle of the park.
It seems like no matter the team he plays in or the pressure a game brings, Rodri can seamlessly control any game in world football.
Spain’s vice-captain is well and truly in the prime of his career and he could give the likes of Declan Rice and Kobbie Mainoo the runaround by dictating the game, playing incisive passes to his team’s electric attackers and take the sting out of England’s gameplan.
It would not be a stretch to suggest that if Rodri plays his best football in the final, Gareth Southgate’s side could have little to no chance of making history.
