Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given an update on the situation of Kevin De Bruyne.

Guardiola has said that he has recently spoken to City and Belgium international midfielder De Bruyne about his recovery from a long-term injury.

And, it is very encouraging.

So, what has Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said about Kevin De Bruyne?

Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Kevin De Bruyne has been on the sidelines since August.

As reported by The Daily Mail, the Manchester City midfielder is recovering from surgery on a hamstring injury.

De Bruyne could reportedly be back in action around New Year.

City manager Pep Guardiola has given an update on the midfielder.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has said that everything is going well with De Bruyne, saying that he will start training soon.

City’s official website quotes Guardiola as saying about De Bruyne: “I spoke with him and he said he feels really good.

“He’s not training with us yet and I don’t know when he will.

“I would say he’s in the last phase before he trains with us again.

“I think (that could be soon), but I don’t know. This kind of injury… it’s better we don’t put pressure on him

“If the physio says next step, next step…no pressure.

“Recover, it’s not necessary to take the wrong or bad decision and then you’re back (where you were) again.

“Kevin’s was a bad injury with surgery, so it’s step by step.”

Kevin De Bruyne could play a big role for Manchester City this season

I believe that Kevin De Bruyne will play a massive role for Manchester City in the second half of the season.

City are the favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

Just like they are every single season.

Pep Guardiola’s side are also expected to reach the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League and perhaps even win it for the second season in a row.

In my opinion, De Bruyne could be a massive difference for City in the business end of the season.

Yes, City are doing well without the Belgian at the moment.

City’s performances in the Premier League and in the UEFA Champions League so far this season suggest that they are not missing the 32-year-old.

Guardiola has found a way to win matches without the former Chelsea player.

However, a player like De Bruyne is always a good option to have in the team, especially against the big clubs in the Premier League and in the UEFA Champions League.
