Liverpool now want to sign Tosin Adarabioyo – who Manchester City sold to Fulham for a very small fee in 2020.

That is according to the Mirror.

So, what could a transfer for Tosin Adarabioyo mean as far as Manchester City are concerned? Let’s take a look…

Manchester City hold Tosin Adarabioyo sell-on clause

Well – according to the Mirror – Manchester City could miss out on making a bit of cash from this transfer, as Liverpool are targeting a free transfer deal for when the defender’s contract expires this summer.

The Manchester Evening News believe Manchester City negotiated a 20% sell-on clause into the £2m sale of Adarabioyo to Fulham back in October 2020.

However, the Citizens would only stand to make any money from that clause if Liverpool approached Fulham for a permanent deal before Thursday’s transfer deadline and paid a fee, which does not appear to be the case.

Fulham ideally want to keep the 26-year-old, according to the Mirror.

However, Adarabioyo is attracting interest from AC Milan and Tottenham as well as Liverpool, so the City Football Academy graduate is keeping his options open, despite being aware of the fact Fulham want to keep him.

Tosin Adarabioyo news reflects well on the City Football Academy

The City Football Academy is really starting to bear fruit for Manchester City.

Gems such as Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb have now followed the likes of Phil Foden and Cole Palmer out of the Etihad Campus, with other diamonds such as Romeo Lavia also emerging in recent times.

Now, the fact Adarabioyo – who graduated from the City Football Academy in 2016 – is being linked with moves to clubs as large as Liverpool, AC Milan and Tottenham speaks further volumes about the level of talent emerging from Manchester City.

Hopefully, the Fulham No.4 ends up moving for a fee, so Manchester City can make some cash from the 20% sell-on clause.
