“Livid with him”… £30m Manchester City player spotted screaming at Oscar Bobb vs Tottenham for one reason

Mateo Kovacic was far from happy with Oscar Bobb during the FA Cup clash between Manchester City and Tottenham.

The 29-year-old could be seen screaming at the 20-year-old midway through the first half in north London.

So, why did Mateo Kovacic scream at Oscar Bobb? Let’s take a look…

Why Mateo Kovacic yelled at Oscar Bobb

Well, the Croatia international embarked on a tremendous run during the opening 45 minutes in N17 – before laying the ball off to the Norway international out wide.

Despite the fact Kovacic screamed for the ball to be cut back, Bobb decided to take a shot, which left the Manchester City No.8 livid.

Ally McCoist even picked up on the moment while speaking on commentary duty for ITV.

The 61-year-old said: “Kovacic is livid with him there. He wanted that cut back.”

In fairness to Bobb, it was a strong effort at Guglielmo Vicario’s goal, one that required a strong block from Pedro Porro to prevent the Italian being seriously tested.

Kovacic has netted just once in 24 appearances for Manchester City since arriving from Chelsea in a £30m deal back in June, so you can understand why he was so desperate for a cutback from the Norwegian.

Oscar Bobb delivered another strong performance in FA Cup clash between Manchester City and Tottenham

Pep Guardiola rewarded Bobb with a start following his late winner in the 3-2 victory over Newcastle last time out, and the youngster from Oslo did not disappoint.

The Manchester City No.52 completed 30 of his attempted 33 passes with a success rate of 91% – two of those balls went down as key passes.

Bobb also deserved to get himself on the scoresheet after pouncing on a spill from Vicario, only for VAR to deem him offside by what appeared to be nothing more than the width of a stud – a very harsh call.

At the age of just 20, it would appear Bobb has already done enough to make himself a highly valued member of Guardiola’s treble winning squad, which is quite the achievement.
