Matheus Nunes has said that fellow Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, is one of his favourite players.
Since arriving at City from Wolves towards the end of the previous summer transfer window in a deal worth £53m, the Portuguese international has made four appearances for the club.
With the 25-year-old in with a chance of playing against his former side this weekend as City take on Wolves at Molineux in their latest Premier League fixture, he has been sharing his praise for one of his new teammates that he has yet to play alongside.
Nunes says De Bruyne is his favourite player

Speaking in a recent video published on the club’s official YouTube channel, Nunes had this to say when asked which past or present City midfielder he admires.
He said: “My favourite player from the last six, seven years [is] De Bruyne. I mean he’s the player that I look up [to] the most.
“I watched every single video of him on YouTube as well and I really love him as a player. If I could tell this is how I wanted to be, maybe it would be him. I love the way he plays, I love his mentality and maybe him I would say influenced me the most.”
Since joining the club from Wolfsburg back in 2015 in a deal worth £55m, the Belgian has scored 96 goals and delivered 153 assists in 358 appearances across all competitions.

This alone makes it easy to see why the former Wolves star has been so full of praise for his new teammate.
Nunes’ comments are the first instance where a City player has shared their admiration for De Bruyne, as Jack Grealish said back in 2020 before he joined the club that he watched videos of the midfielder and tried to build his game in comparison to him.
Moving forward, with De Bruyne out injured for the next few months after having surgery on a hamstring issue, Nunes will have to wait a little while longer before he can share the pitch with City’s star midfielder.
