Charlie Adam has praised the impact that Erling Haaland has had at Manchester City since his arrival.
The 23-year-old found himself on the scoresheet once again this afternoon as he bagged City’s only goal in their 1-1 draw against Liverpool.
Now in the midst of his second season at the Manchester club, the centre-forward has found himself on the receiving end of some hefty praise from one former Premier League player.
Adam hails Haaland impact

Speaking in a post-match livestream on the club’s official YouTube channel after the draw with Liverpool, Adam had this to say about Haaland and what he’s done at City so far.
He said: “He’s unbelievable, he’s a young kid, young in terms of how we are and watching the experience he shows in the games and playing against the top players.
“He has spells out of the game, periods out of the game but what a threat he is. Again, today with his goal and right at the end, he gets across the front, if somebody had actually gambled at the far post might’ve really got that goal in the last minute but his movement is brilliant and he’s a real focal point.
“At the end of the day he’s a goalscorer, isn’t he? That’s what he was brought to the club to do. When you lose somebody like [Sergio] Aguero who is a cult hero here, you need somebody in the top teams to really make a difference and he has made a difference to this Manchester City team.”
Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, the Norway international has made 72 appearances across all competitions, scoring 70 goals in the process and winning four major trophies.
Having scored in big league games against the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea among many others, this shows how much of an impact the striker has had in Pep Guardiola’s side as Adam mentioned, especially in the big occasions.
This all makes it clear that City were right to spend the £51m it took to sign the striker from Borussia Dortmund during the 2022 summer transfer window.
