Noel Gallagher has said that David Silva is the best Manchester City player he’s ever seen.
As a lifelong City fan, the former Oasis member has watched his fair share of City players throughout the years.
Now though, the Mancunian has shared his thoughts on one particular former City player whom he has particular admiration for.
Gallagher says Silva is the best he’s seen

Speaking in a recent edition of Football Daily, Gallagher had this to say when asked who the best player he’s seen play for City is.
He said: “I would’ve said David Silva. [Kevin] De Bruyne is going to push him extremely close but David Silva, when he came to the Premier League, he was not hot property, people thought we’d overpaid for him.
“He was, for me, he personified the word ‘sublime.’ I seen him give the ball away once, he personifies sublime, he was just brilliant, he made us tick, he changed the game.
“Phil Foden wouldn’t be the player he is today if it wasn’t for David Silva. But De Bruyne is going to outstrip him trophy-wise. De Bruyne is more breath-taking on the eye because his passes are just incredible. But Dave was a beautiful, beautiful footballer, we’ve never seen the likes of it, we’d never seen it.”
During his 10-year spell at the Manchester club between 2010 and 2020, the midfielder made 436 appearances for City in all competitions.
Across those appearances, Silva scored 77 goals, supplied 140 assists and won four Premier League titles.
Once he left the club in 2020, a statue was made of him outside of the Etihad Stadium to commemorate his impressive efforts in a City shirt.
Ahead of his final game with the Citizens, Pep Guardiola said that Silva is “alongside five or six others” who made the club what it is now.
With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why Gallagher thinks so highly of the Spaniard.
