Liverpool boss Arne Slot could be set to deal a major blow to Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
Manchester City and Liverpool are on completely different trajectories right now.
Pep Guardiola has endured all sorts of problems at The Etihad this season, whilst Arne Slot has experienced a fabulous debut campaign at Anfield.
The Premier League table tells its own story, with the Reds currently sitting points 17 clear of the Cityzens.
There will be big change at Man City in the summer, with major players like Kevin De Bruyne surely now finished under Pep.
However, defence is an area where the Man City manager really should be focusing on in the summer.

Pep needs to sign some natural full-backs, and he should be looking to add some experience to his back-line as well.
There are many Premier League games left to be played until the summer transfer window opens though.
Next up for City is a daunting clash with Liverpool.
And that game could be the precursor to another battle between the two clubs in the summer window.
Liverpool battling Manchester City for David Hancko
Feyenoord defender David Hancko has been on Man City’s radar for quite some time now.
Manchester City fans will be very familiar with Hancko. he scored the last-minute equaliser for Feyenoord at The Etihad in the Champions League back in November.
The 27-year-old was a transfer target for City back in January.
And given Guardiola’s current defensive woes, Hancko would be the perfect addition for Man City in January.
The problem for the Premier League champions is that Liverpool boss Slot has moved into position to bring the 48-capped Slovakia international to Anfield, according to journalist Süleyman Öztürk, who spoke to FR 12:
“If they (other teams) can pick a Feyenoord player, top clubs and top trainers will end up with him (Hancko). Where can he go? Liverpool! Arne Slot wants him of course. Why not Liverpool? You have to aim high; he is that good.”
That sounds like really bad news for City.
Hancko has absolutely everything that Pep looks for in a defender. He may be slightly older than the manager’s usual targets, but that added experience would be vital for Man City.
A big change is needed in the summer, and the Feyenoord defender should definitely be someone who Pep tries to bring to The Etihad.

Liverpool’s interest in the Slovakian is a big problem for City though.
What has David Hancko said about Liverpool
The versatile defender is a lifelong Liverpool fan.
He told De Telegraaf back in 2024 that he’s crazy about the idea of moving to Anfield.
So if Liverpool do make a concrete move to sign Manchester City target David Hancko in the summer, it’s clear to see where he will end up.
The 27-year-old can play as a centre-back or at left-back. He is incredibly strong in the challenge, possesses impressive pace and is technically very proficient.
On paper, Hancko would be the perfect signing for Man City in the summer.
However, Liverpool are clearly in pole position to bring him to the Premier League.
