Manchester City have agreed to loan young defender Issa Kabore to newly-promoted Premier League side Luton Town.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Olympique Marseille, where he made 29 appearances, and is now set for another spell away from the Etihad Stadium.
The right-back was unlikely to break into the Man City first team next season, although there is still faith in him from those at the club, and he has been handed a contract extension ahead of his loan, as per a report from Mike McGrath.
His previous contract was set to expire in 2025, but this deal should protect his value ahead of a first full season in the Premier League, and his spell at Luton will go some way into determining whether the Burkina Faso international has a future at the club under Pep Guardiola.
Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that the deal is set to be announced soon.
Can Kabore make it at City?
The right-back was impressive in his loan at Marseille, ranking highly amongst European fullbacks for his dribbling and ball-carrying ability, but defensively he left a lot to be desired.
With both of Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo potentially leaving the club this summer, he may have had a chance at staking a claim for a first-team spot, but his upcoming loan indicates that the club see it best that he develops further elsewhere.

A Premier League loan will allow City to keep a closer eye on him, and playing for Luton, who many anticipate being in a relegation battle, could help harness his defensive skills.
If he is able to stand out at Luton, then perhaps the club may wish to keep him at the end of next season, but given the difficulty in reaching the first-team at City, a future sale seems to be the likeliest outcome for the defender.
