With how both clubs’ respective seasons have panned out, Manchester City logically still remain a more attractive destination for players around the world than Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola’s men could still win the FA Cup and qualify for the Champions League despite undergoing a fall from grace this season and while Ruben Amorim’s side are in the Europa League semi-finals, they are also placed 14th in the Premier League table.
Manchester City also have a far superior track record of winning major silverware in comparison to Manchester United over the past couple of years — and with Guardiola in charge, most players across the globe could only dream of working under arguably the greatest manager of all time.
Atalanta midfielder Ederson dos Santos has now been linked with a move to both Manchester clubs.

Man City and Manchester United eyeing move for Atalanta star Ederson Santos
Journalist Eduardo Burgos has revealed that Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus have enquired about signing Ederson.
The good news for both Manchester City and Manchester United is that Ederson is set to bid farewell to the Serie A side at the end of the season.
Another elite club who are “monitoring” the Brazilian defensive midfielder’s situation in Bergamo is Atletico Madrid.
Atalanta have placed a price tag of €75 million (£63.7 million) on Ederson, which Manchester City will have to determine whether they wish to pay as Rodri will return to full fitness soon.
Nico Gonzalez is determined to succeed at Manchester City and whether Guardiola views him as a holding midfielder or a number eight remains to be seen — as the Sky Blues could well just place their faith in the Spaniard to come good.
Manchester City have wanted to sign Ederson Santos for months
The potentially bad news for Manchester United is that Manchester City have been eyeing Ederson for months now.
So much so that in November, transfer expert Graeme Bailey told Manchester City News: “Some people say a Rodri replacement, I don’t think it’s that in any shape or form, I think they want someone else in there. I know those three have been looked at. Not only those three [Ederson, Martin Zubimendi and Javi Guerra], they’re doing their homework.”
“But those three are very much ones they’re looking at.”
