Manchester City have been linked with a move for exciting Rennes winger Jeremy Doku.
The club are looking at the market following the departure of Riyad Mahrez last month.
Mahrez joined Al Ahli, and Pep Guardiola now needs a replacement. Either from his current squad or another club.
Since Mahrez left, the club have been linked with a few names.
Raphinha of Barcelona got an early mention.
And Michael Olise is also taking up a lot of column inches at the moment.
But City are also apparently looking at Doku, a Belgian international teammate of Kevin De Bruyne.
And potentially, he could make for quite an exciting signing.
Jurgen Klopp was a big fan of Jeremy Doku, according to the player’s dad
Doku is a player who has been on the radars of some big clubs in recent times.

And there is an interesting article from The Guardian that was published in 2021 about the youngster.
He was invited for a tour of Anfield in 2018 when he was just 16. The Reds were hopeful of convincing him to join them from Anderlecht.
It is stated that Jurgen Klopp spoke with Doku and his parents when they were at Melwood.
Doku’s dad David said: “He (Klopp) explained to us that Jérémy could replace Mané in a few years.”
It is suggested that Liverpool laid it on thick to try and get Doku to join them. Mo Salah is even said to have given him a shirt during this visit.
In the end, Doku did not want the move then.
Doku would be an exciting signing for Man City
The story of Doku being courted by Liverpool is really interesting.
That Doku’s dad said Klopp felt he could be a replacement for Mane is perhaps an indicator of his potential.
Mane was one of the best wingers the Premier League has seen in recent history.

City don’t have any wide men that are pacy and direct like Doku is and Mane was.
It remains to be seen if City will go in for him this summer. Potentially, it could all depend on if Olise is unattainable or not.
