Manchester City are reportedly looking to sign one of Brazil’s young prospects but face competition from some of Europe’s big clubs.
The Manchester club and the City Football Group have a track record when it comes to signing young players from all over the world and helping them develop their careers.
Now though, another young talent has popped up on the club’s radar for a potential transfer swoop in the near future.
City eyeing Fernando transfer move

According to a recent report from Marca, City, as well as Porto and one big unnamed club from Spain, are monitoring 18-year-old winger Luis Fernando, who is currently playing for Brazilian club Cruzeiro.
The report also adds that Cruzeiro fear that they could have another situation on their hands similar to the one that saw Barcelona secure a €40m (£34m) deal for teenage striker Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranense back in July.
After making 14 appearances for Cruzeiro’s U20 side, across which he scored five goals and delivered two assists, the teenager has now made his senior debut for the club.
Despite that, the fact that Fernando apparently has a handful of big clubs looking at him shows that he must be a top prospect.

With just a handful of minutes under his belt at senior level, it seems likely that if City were to be successful in landing the young winger’s signature, he may not be immediately put into Pep Guardiola’s senior squad.
Therefore, a more likely next step for the youngster could be to join City’s youth ranks or be loaned out elsewhere to give him a better opportunity of getting regular senior game time.
Moving forward, if Fernando continues to get opportunities in the first team at Cruzeiro and can show what he’s capable of, he could well be one for City to get their chequebook out for.
