Man City could now reignite their interest in ‘mind-boggling’ 25 y/o player, Pep absolutely adores him

It has been reported that in case Lucas Paqueta is cleared of all the off-the-pitch allegations against him, Manchester City could try signing him once again.

This comes from the Times, after it was claimed almost two weeks ago that the treble-winners’ move for the West Ham United midfielder was off.

Now, perhaps Manchester City could try their luck once again to persuade David Moyes’ side to sell Lucas Paqueta.

Manchester City could try to make Lucas Paqueta transfer again

Branded as ‘mind-boggling’ by Declan Rice (via the Evening Standard), the 25-year-old was perhaps viewed as a player that could come in as a fresh face after Kevin De Bruyne’s long-term injury.

In fact, it was also revealed by Fabrizio Romano in August that Pep Guardiola has ‘always been a fan’ of the Brazilian international.

It has now come to light that if Lucas Paqueta is deemed innocent of all the charges levelled against him, Manchester City could try to sign him this summer.

Unlikely that the Lucas Paqueta deal takes place this summer

For starters, West Ham would unlikely negotiate with Manchester City for the sale of Lucas Paqueta with the window set to close on Friday.

In addition to this, it seems like the Sky Blues have already wrapped up a deal to sign Matheus Nunes from Wolves.

It seems like the Portuguese midfielder was viewed as the plan B to the former Lyon attacker, who Pep Guardiola is known to admire.

As a result, a move for Paqueta in the ongoing summer window seems virtually impossible.

However, with Kevin De Bruyne ageing and one still yet to discover how his latest hamstring injury affects him going forward, perhaps Manchester City explore the Hammers hero’s signing once again.

But for the time being, it is better to not even expect Paqueta to don sky blue.
