Manchester City reportedly tracked Murillo, before he completed a move to Nottingham Forest in the summer.
City did some really good deals in the last window.
Four senior players came to the Etihad – Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol, Matheus Nunes and Jeremy Doku.
All have had good impacts so far.
And there might have been a fifth addition, with City having apparently shown a bit of interest in Murillo.
A move was never forthcoming in the end, but Murillo has already caught the eye for Forest…
Manchester City looked at Murillo before he completed a move to Nottingham Forest
According to The Athletic, City did actually check on Murillo’s progress in the summer.

He had been impressing at Corinthians – and now he has caught the eye early doors at the City Ground following a move for an initial £10 million.
Murillo has now started a couple of games for Steve Cooper’s side.
Against Crystal Palace at the weekend, Murillo wowed when he dribbled the ball out of defence, took on three players before getting a shot away.
It would have been some goal.
The moment demonstrated that Murillo is a fantastic technician.
Murillo looks a top prospect
So City took a little look at Murillo before he made his move to Nottingham Forest.
It will be interesting to see how he gets on but the early signs are pretty encouraging about him, and Forest fans are rightly excited.
He looks tailor-made for the Premier League in that he is physical and technical. The Athletic describe him as being ‘imposing’ and ‘built like a giant Lego figure’.

South American football expert Nathan Joyes of The Copa Club said of Murillo: “His passing range is what every manager craves from a centre-back. There are no lofty balls into areas – he’s actively choosing to play balls with purpose and pace to his winger’s feet, so they can continue with the ball in their stride.”
It is little wonder that City had an eye on him.
Perhaps the club will continue to monitor him to see how he gets on in the Premier League.
