Manchester City were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Brighton came from behind twice to nick a point in the final round of Premier League fixtures before the March international break.

Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush were in the scoresheet for City who had a 2-1 lead at the break, but an own goal from Abdukodir Khusanov after the restart saw the game end 2-2.

Man City remain in 5th place of the Premier League table and one point behind Chelsea in 4th.

Manchester City fans all in agreement about Omar Marmoush after Brighton

Marmoush netted his fourth goal for City against Brighton, and his only goal since his hat-trick against Newcastle United earlier in the year.

After his goal against Brighton, City fans flocked to social media and sung their praises of the 26-year-old Egyptian. “Marmoush over [Phil] Foden any day”, said one City fan.

“What a player!” added another. Others posted: “Has been our best player today,” as a similar comment read: “Best player on the pitch so far.”

One City fan added: “He should be playing absolutely every game!” And one supporter even joked: “We should also hire him to teach the other players how to shoot.”

What Pep Guardiola plans to do with Omar Marmoush at Man City next season

The central midfield department looks set for change next season and one player who could arrive at the Etihad is Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga.

And it’s been claimed that, should Camavinga arrived at Man City, then Guardiola will push Marmoush out to the left side of attack.

But he’s showed some great promise in this no.10 position and Pep might yet have to change his plans for the former Eintracht Frankfurt man, especially if he proves prolific in the final games of the season.

City return to action against Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-final in two weeks.
