Jeremy Doku was Manchester City’s impact substitute as he assisted Matheus Nunes’ last-gasp winner in their 2-1 victory against Aston Villa.
After Marcus Rashford cancelled Bernardo Silva’s early strike out, it seemed like Manchester City were heading towards a 1-1 draw.
Ahead of the contest, Pep Guardiola admitted to being “unfair” on Doku for not playing him regularly in recent games and the Belgian international seemed to feed off his manager’s comments, racing past Axel Disasi before playing an inch-perfect pass across the box for Nunes to tap into the back of the net.
Doku changed the game against Everton and once again, he has had an incredible impact off the bench against Unai Emery’s side.
Manchester City fans were full of praise for Jeremy Doku, who proved his worth against Aston Villa.

Man City fans hail Jeremy Doku after beating Aston Villa
One Manchester City fan pinpointed how influential Doku has been in recent games after his show-stealing cameo against Aston Villa, as he simply wrote: “Put respect on Jeremy Doku’s name. His impact has saved us these last few games.”
Another Manchester City fan stated that off the bench, Doku is incredible and that was the case against Aston Villa as well: “These Doku 70 minute subs are so cash money. Sixth man of the year!”
A third supporter called for the former Rennes winger to become a regular starter: “Doku’s one of the first names on the team sheet, btw [by the way].”
A fourth City fan agreed, replying: “Easily. Love Doku, he brings a new dimension to this team.”
A fifth Manchester City fan who seemingly doubted Doku’s quality in the past apologised to him after his electric showing against Aston Villa: “Jeremy Doku, I sincerely apologise. You’re the real deal.”
Finally, sixth supporter’s analysis was that the 22-year-old is a wide playmaker, as he explained: “Doku has turned into a high-impact wide left playmaker. yet again, another game he’s taken into his own hands and completely changed. A beautifully timed assist to Matheus Nunes. But he still has to warm the bench and only gets brought on in the last 15 to 20 minutes? I’ll never understand it.”
Pep Guardiola must be delighted by how impactful the youngster was as he showed once again that love him or loathe him but he has X-factor in abudance.
Unai Emery made a big mistake that would’ve made Jeremy Doku smile
Manchester City fans seem to be falling in love with Doku, a player who divides opinion at the Etihad Stadium but his latest exploits against Aston Villa are an indicator of the talent he posseses.
However, Unai Emery made a blunder by bringing Axel Disasi on, who recently showed his deficiencies at right-back as he was torn apart by Khvicha Kvaratshelia as he PSG’s second goal in their 3-1 win at the Parc des Princes.
Doku would have fancied his chances up against Disasi as he darted past the Frenchman with ease and set up a match-winning assist.
