It looks like Kevin De Bruyne is finally set to seal his long-awaited move to Napoli.
Napoli were confident about signing De Bruyne and they are finally set to get their hands on one of the best midfielders in the history of the game.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Manchester City legend has given his “final green light” to join Antonio Conte’s side.
Furthermore, the 33-year-old is set to sign a two-year contract with an option to extend his deal for an additional year, with the medical and minute details left to finalise his move to Naples.
De Bruyne’s wife was keen on Napoli as her husband’s next club and as a move is on the verge of completion, Manchester City fans are gutted that he is finally set to play his football elsewhere.

Man City fans gutted about Kevin De Bruyne’s exit as he is set to join Napoli
One Manchester City fan reacted to Kevin De Bruyne’s impending move to Napoli by simply writing: “My head hurts. At least Kev stayed in sky blue.”
A second City supporter expressed their sadness, admitting: “My heart shattered into a million pieces. You’ll be forever missed.”
A third Manchester City fan expressed his sadness at seeing De Bruyne join Napoli and depart Pep Guardiola’s side: “Irks me not to see him in Sky Blue. Our GOAT [greatest player of all time]. Nobody, including myself will understand the chokehold this man had on the league until years have passed. Insane numbers and a match-winner. Gutted to see him leave. I’m rooting for him as long as he’s kicking a ball.”
A fourth City fan stated that De Bruyne is virtually irreplaceable: “He’s [Rayan Cherki] yet to prove himself at the highest level, it’s actually very difficult to replace Kevin De Bruyne anyway.”
A fifth supporter told the Serie A champions to take good care of the six-time Premier League winner: “you better treat king Kev like the king he is. Give him whatever he wants because he is a gem and don’t you ever disrespect him.”
However, a sixth Manchester City fan was delighted that at least De Bruyne is still going to don a sky blue strip at Napoli: “The man stayed in sky blue”, followed by a ‘light blue-coloured heart emoji.’
De Bruyne is the ultimate fan favourite and despite his move to Naples seeming like it will get over the line for weeks, the supporters are still heartbroken that he will play his football elsewhere now.
Premier League club tried to sign De Bruyne before Napoli interest
Aston Villa held discussions about signing De Bruyne.
However, Villa did not make a move for the midfield maestro.
West Ham tried signing De Bruyne, however, but ultimately, he chose to sign for Napoli, a decision Manchester City fans will agree with as he has a chance of winning trophies and playing at the highest level in Italy.
City supporters will be hoping that under Antonio Conte, the former Wolfsburg midfielder makes more history.
