Since leaving Manchester City to join Chelsea, Cole Palmer has been on a seeming mission to make his former club regret their decision of letting him and go and against Tottenham Hotspur, he did so again.
Cole Palmer dispatched a pair of penalties in the Blues’ 4-2 win against Tottenham while also setting up Enzo Fernandez’s winning goal in what was yet another masterful display from him on Sunday night.

Maresca revealed Manchester City viewed Palmer as a “top” talent.
However, the plethora of attacking talent at the Etihad Stadium convinced City to be open to letting the in-form midfielder leave last year.
Manchester City fans have claimed on X that the reason why Palmer’s sale does not bother them is due to the presence of Oscar Bobb.

A third Sky Blues fan stated: “If Bobb didn’t get injured, we wouldn’t be seeing these Palmer tweets right now.”
A fourth Manchester City supporter said: “Oscar Bobb will prove you wrong!”
A sixth City fan stated: “I’ll never be bothered about Palmer and I’ll always prefer Oscar Bobb.”
To a tweet on X that expressed City’s sadness to have let Palmer, a fan replied: “We have got Oscar Bobb at home.”
Bernardo Silva says Bobb has a ‘very, very bright future’
Pep Guardiola’s update on Bobb’s fitness, who remains out injured is that he could return in the new year.
During pre-season, David James lauded Bobb by describing him as the “next Phil Foden.”
While Bernardo Silva’s view of Bobb is that he is the most gifted young player at Manchester City, even suggesting that Pep Guardiola should have given him a bigger role in the first-team last season.
“Oscar Bobb. I think even last season, he didn’t get the minutes that he deserved. But he’s up there. I think he’s going to have a very, very bright future.”
While Brian Barry-Murphy likened Bobb to Palmer, having managed both in Manchester City’s youth teams.
“He had an amazing ability to do the biggest sprint distances, the biggest repeat running, and he had incredible one-v-one [ability]. He could beat players in a flash.”
“They are different players, but quite similar to Oscar Bobb.”
Manchester City fans will be hoping Bobb returns to full fitness with a bang and drowns out all the noise surrounding the club’s potential mistake to sell Palmer.
