Kevin De Bruyne seemed to appreciate the support as he was visibly up for the game, creating several chances, flying into challenges and doing all he can to bow out at home in style.

One Manchester City showed his appreciation for De Bruyne after he was eventually taken off by Pep Guardiola by simply writing: “Goodbye Kevin De Bruyne. Thank you for everything.”
A second City supporter revealed that he would sing the Belgian’s praises for years to come, writing: “Watching him week-in week-out for a decade. The greatest player of City’s greatest era. What an absolute privilege. I’ll tell my kids about Kevin De Bruyne.”
Another Manchester City fan hailed De Bruyne’s character, stating: “More than being one of the greatest footballers of all time, he’s just a really good, nice guy. No controversy, nothing inauthentic, just a great guy and the best of footballers. Thank you, Kev.”
A fourth fan simply wrote: “The king departs the Etihad pitch for the last time. Thank you, Kevin De Bruyne.”
A fifth Sky Blues supporter went as far as to claim that no City player will ever come close to the six-time Premier League winner: “Hurts knowing we will never see a player like him at our club in our lifetime.”
Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan paid tribute to De Bruyne’s greatness after his display against Bournemouth: “Kevin De Bruyne, what an absolute privilege it has been to watch you play for my club. The greatest Premier league player of all time.”
It’s safe to say that even beyond the Etihad Stadium, the legendary creator is adored worldwide by City supporters.
