Kevin De Bruyne rolled back the years as he spearheaded Manchester City to a much-needed 5-2 victory against Crystal Palace after the hosts were trailing by two goals within 21 minutes of the contest.
The Manchester City captain’s incredible free-kick set the tone for the hosts to stage an inspired comeback, as he eventually assisted Mateo Kovacic’s winner as well as Omar Marmoush, James McAtee and Nico O’Reilly all got on the scoresheet.
But it was after City’s win against Crystal Palace where Kevin De Bruyne also made headlines as he told Viaplay that he could well stay in the Premier League after departing the Sky Blues: “Honestly, I don’t know. It could be, it could be not, it’s very hard because the decision of leaving has not been that long so nothing can be decided in a week and also, in the football world, I don’t think everything comes in a week, goes very slowly, I’ve not even seen my family since the announcement.”
“So, I need to speak and I need to see whatever teams wants me, so I don’t know, I have no idea and we’ll see.”
Manchester City fans worry about the prospect of De Bruyne moving to another Premier League team after his latest admission and especially one in the ‘Big Six.’

Man City fans hope Kevin De Bruyne won’t sign for another Premier League club
One Manchester City fan stated that if De Bruyne does sign for another club in the Premier League, the club’s decision to let him go will look silly: “If KDB goes to another club in England, we’re actually thick as hell man.”
A second City fan worried that De Bruyne could leave Manchester City and opt for a move to Liverpool, writing: “De Bruyne is best mates with [Virgil] Van Dijk and since Trent[Alexander-Arnold] is going, that’s 90% of his wages right there His idol growing up was Michael Owen and favourite team was Liverpool. [Mohamed] Salah, [Dominik] Szoboszlai, VVD, [Alexis] Mac Allister said they’d love to play with him. Don’t you dare.”
A third Manchester City fan was adamant in his stance that he would be furious if De Bruyne played for another Premier League side: “If KDB is playing at any other Premier League side next season…fury.”
But a fourth fan admitted that as long as the Belgian international does not play for another club in the Premier League’s Big Six, he would be relieved: “I don’t have a problem if he plays for West ham or Everton or any mid-table club but just hoping he doesn’t go to another Big Six club.”
A fifth supporter blamed the club for letting the 33-year-old leave despite De Bruyne’s willingness to stay at Manchester City: “That’s what happens when your best player wants to stay but you force him out. Can’t complain really.”
A sixth Manchester City fan claimed that the decision-makers at the Etihad Stadium should be ashamed if De Bruyne plays for another club in England: “If he ever plays for another club in England then everybody running the club should hang their heads in shame.”
De Bruyne finally feels pain-free after injuring his hernia and that was reflected against Crystal Palace as it looks like he could still thrive at the highest level.
The one club Kevin De Bruyne won’t ever play for
The likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United could all do with a player who possesses the quality, experience and winning mentality the midfield maestro has.
However, Manchester City fans will be hoping that De Bruyne chooses to play abroad, especially considering he has heavily been linked with a move to Inter Miami.
But what City supporters can feel assured about is that their legendary creator will not make a controversial move to Manchester United, judging by his response to being handed a Red Devils shirt by the Mid Mid podcast.
When De Bruyne was handed the United shirt, he instantly asked: “Do I burn it now?”
The six-time Premier League winner was told that it would be a “dream” if he signed for Manchester United.
De Bruyne bluntly replied: “Most dreams aren’t real” before bursting out laughing, suggesting his loyalty lies firmly with Manchester City.
