Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool could sign Alexander Isak after he reportedly informed Newcastle United of his desire to leave St. James’ Park this summer — with the Premier League champions sending a message to their rivals that they plan to build a domestic dynasty.
Upon coming across the aforementioned revelation, Manchester City fans believe the champions of England will storm to the league title once again if they complete the signing of the Swedish striker.
Man City fans give Premier League title hopes as Liverpool target Alexander Isak
One Manchester City fan admitted that if Liverpool sign Isak, Pep Guardiola’s side have no chance of winning the league title, writing: “Liverpool are well clear of us right now, they sign Isak and we stand zero chance.”
A second supporter feels that if the Newcastle goalscorers makes his way to Anfield, City will be unable to compete with Arne Slot and Co for years to come, claiming: “We won’t get anywhere near them for a long time.”
A third Manchester City fan reacted to Liverpool eyeing Isak by simply writing: “Wrap it up” to imply the title race could be over before the 2025/2026 season has even started.
A fourth Sky Blues claimed that even though he doubts Liverpool will win the league at a canter if they were to sign Isak, City’s defensive woes means they cannot beat them to the coveted trophy, explaining: “I don’t think they walk it but they win it for me. I don’t think we’re strong enough defensively.”
Another City fan predicted that Pep Guardiola’s men will not win the league for another five years, stating: “We’re not touching that PL [Premier League] for five years minimum.”
Lastly, a sixth fan expressed his frustrations about Liverpool trying to sign Isak while Manchester City are yet to sign a right-back, writing: “Let these guys Isak and we still can’t get a right-back. Argh, my head.”
It’s safe to say that most City supporters believe they have no chance of winning the title anymore.
Pep Guardiola has already delivered Alexander Isak verdict
Pep Guardiola told Manchester City’s official website in February last year that he rates Isak highly, which would worry the Sky Blues fans if he signs for Liverpool.
“Isak has improved season by season. I knew it a little bit because I follow the Spanish league and at Sociedad he already started to make an impact.”
Guardiola concluded: “He started to do it and he proved he can run and the finishing, and he’s a fantastic player.”
All one can do is wait to see if Liverpool even sign Isak before jumping to conclusions.
