Cherki never doubted his move to Manchester City and his faith has finally paid off as Lyon have agreed a deal to sell him to the English giants.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that Pep Guardiola’s men have struck an agreement worth €30 million (£25.2 million) to sign the Frenchman, with €5 million (£4.2 million) in add-ons.
As Rayan Cherki is expected to fly to Manchester on Monday to complete his move to Manchester City, Sky Blues fans have been left pleasantly surprised by how inexpensive his move is set to be.

Another supporter was impressed by the fee at which City are set to seal a deal to sign the 21-year-old: “If true, £25m with add-ons taking it to around £30m for Cherki would appear bloody good value.”
A third Manchester City fan reacted to the Cherki’s impending move to the Etihad Stadium by simply writing: “£25m up front for Cherki. Just laughing at how good that is.”
A fourth supporter was full of praise for both Hugo Viana and Txiki Begiristain’s work, claiming: “Txiki and Viana are cooking this window. Nonsense that it’s all on one or the other.”
But a fifth City fan chose to laud Viana, writing: “Hugo Viana. Cherki, Reijnders and Ait-Nouri for [a reported] £108.7 million”, followed by a ‘cold emoji.’
Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan claimed that the deal is “cheap” for a player of Cherki’s calibre, especially as he looks set to play the all-important role of succeeding Kevin De Bruyne: “£25m is dirt cheap for a player of his potential and qualities. Brings in much needed creativity for our post-KDB era. Exciting times ahead!”
It’s safe to say that City may have managed to pull off one of the biggest bargain buys of the summer.

Cherki had his thoughts on Pep Guardiola’s system by confidently claiming that he has the quality to shine in any tactical setup, which will be music to Manchester City fans’ ears.
Cherki revealed: “I am ready for any system.”
“I work every day, physically and mentally, to be ready. Above all, I’m trying to choose the best option for me, to develop as a person and a footballer.”
Considering how gifted Cherki is combined with the cost-effective nature of the deal, he would classify as an early shout for the best summer signing across European football.
