Manchester City fans have been reacting to the news tonight that Savio has officially and finally been signed.
Fans have been very patient this summer for new arrivals.
But Savio was always a player who was expected to complete a move to the Etihad Stadium at some point this summer. It was reported earlier this year that City had reached an agreement for the Brazilian.
City have swooped, after Savio, also known as Savinho, tore it up last season in La Liga for Girona.
The South American played a huge part in their surge up the table to an eventual third-place finish. Girona will play in the Champions League for the first time ever next season, and the contributions of Savio cannot be overstated.
Savio will be hoping to make as big an impact as some of the Brazilians that have gone before him at the Etihad.
The likes of Ederson, Fernandinho, Gabriel Jesus have all made significant contributions to the club, and hopefully, Savio can really thrive under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola.
Man City fans react to Savio signing, and the shirt number he’s chose

- Who is Savinho? The ‘special’ starlet who tore up La Liga and is Man City’s first transfer of the summer
There has, understandably, been a big reaction on social media tonight following City’s official announcement of Savio as a new player.
Some had grown a little frustrated at the lack of activity.
But Savio – who became a full Brazil international earlier this year – is over the line now, and plenty are expecting big things from the 20-year-old following his exploits for Girona last season.
Some supporters could help but notice the shirt number that Savio has taken upon joining Manchester City.
The youngster has elected to go with the number 26 shirt, which was of course last worn by Riyad Mahrez, who enjoyed five brilliant years at the Etihad.
If Savio can enjoy half the success as the Algerian then this transfer will be deemed a success.
An exciting addition
It is going to be really exciting watching Savio in action for City.
His move to the club has been in the pipeline for a while now, and the youngster stands to be a really great addition and a top prospect.
Jeremy Doku came in and made a really good impact in his first season, although he did show at times that he is still quite raw.
Savio ought to be aiming to make a similar impact to what the Belgian did last term. He has the talent to match the campaign Doku had.
But patience will of course be required with Savio. He is only 20 and obviously has a huge amount to learn. But he is certainly in the best place to realise his potential with Pep and Manchester City.
