Manchester City have released their latest documentary Together: 4-In-A-Row – and there are some very interesting segments.

The club filmed the 2023/24 season, which culminated in the club winning a fourth straight Premier League title.

Manchester City also won the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

It was a very interesting season for City and fans now have the chance to take a look at what went down behind the scenes.

One of the most significant things that happened last season was when Rodri got sent off against Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium.

Rodri placed his hands on Morgan Gibbs-White’s neck and he received a red card. He then missed the next three games, with City losing all three.

Manchester City ended up winning the game against Forest 2-0 thanks to early goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.

But the red card for Rodri in the second-half would end up costing City.

Rodri ended up missing the next three games against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, and then Wolves and Arsenal in the Premier League.

The new City documentary has just dropped, and fans can now see the interaction between Pep Guardiola and Rodri in the dressing room after the game.

Guardiola said: “Learn the Lesson, Rodri.

“You are a captain and you have your own responsibility. Learn the lesson, you can only drop the team with 10 men. We have lost you for three games, for that, for the next three games. Rodri do you want to say something or not?”

Rodri said: “Thank you (guys) for your effort. It wasn’t an aggression, it was a big mistake from me in that moment. After he hit me four times, I reacted in a bad way. I’m sorry for that guys, but saw the second-half and we were unbelievable.”

Both handled the situation well

This particular part of the documentary was quite fascinating.

Rodri’s red card against Forest was a major surprise at the time, as he is not normally someone who gets involved in conflict or someone who loses his cool

It was clear to see that Guardiola wasn’t happy with how his midfielder handled the situation, and he had every right to be.

It was a frosty response from the Manchester City manager, but he handled it well, because he also gave the opportunity for Rodri to speak and address the group.

And Rodri took ownership of what he did which was great to see, while also letting his teammates know where he was coming from.
