True Grant travels to Belgrade with Manchester City

Well, the treble winners have already secured top spot in Group G and are in the Round of 16.

Therefore, tonight’s clash against Red Star Belgrade is the epitome of a dead rubber affair – although that means Pep Guardiola could hand some young talents a chance to shine.

Here on Manchester City News, we covered the fact that Max Alleyne, Mahamadou Susoho and Kane Taylor were named in senior training as the Citizens prepared for the game in Manchester on Tuesday.

Grant’s name was not mentioned at that point in time – although the Manchester Evening News are now reporting that the teenager has travelled to Serbia.

The 18-year-old has been accompanied on the trip by fellow City Football Group prospect Micah Hamilton, along with the aforementioned Alleyne and Susoho.

Who is Manchester City prodigy True Grant?

Well, the Manchester-born glovesman has been described as as a “composed shot stopper” and a “calming presence” on Manchester City’s official website.

Grant is also an England Under-19 international who has represented England at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level as well.

The Manchester City No.88 has endured a tough time in the youth ranks this season, conceding 19 goals in eight appearances, while keeping just a single clean sheet.

However, the fact Guardiola has still sat up and taken notice of his efforts suggests Grant is doing plenty of other things right in between the sticks, namely his impressive footwork.

With Ederson missing through illness, the teenager is expected to be named on the bench as Stefan Ortega starts.
