The Manchester City first-team is currently struggling, but there was a superb result tonight for the U19s – and Ryan McAidoo hit a quick-fire hat-trick.
Pep Guardiola will have been hard at work since the weekend, trying to work out how best to set up against Feyenoord.
His players need to respond tonight to get things back on track.
And hopefully, the academy’s result will be replicated by the first-team. They won 6-1 against Feyenoord earlier today – and young Ryan McAidoo made headlines with a brilliant hat-trick.
Ryan McAidoo scores hat-trick for Man City U19s against Feyenoord in UEFA Youth League

Tonight, City’s U19s took on Feyenoord and ran out convincing 6-1 winners.
There were goals from Farid Alfa-Ruprecht and a brace for Reigan Heskey, with Ryan McAidoo scoring a hat-trick.
The 16-year-old only came on in the 69th minute of the game, but wasted little time in making an impact.
McAidoo combined brilliantly with Justin Oboavwoduo to score his first, before adding a second in a matter of minutes.
By the 88th minute, McAidoo had completed his hat-trick, converting confidently from the penalty spot after a foul on Charlie Gray in the area.
Who is Man City starlet Ryan McAidoo?
McAidoo is a name that some City fans may be fairly familiar with, because the youngster already looks to be one of the most exciting talents in the EDS.
He only joined the club in the summer from Chelsea, and he previously had a spell with Colchester United. Fabrizio Romano reported at the time that City were convinced McAidoo could become a potential future star at the club.
McAidoo – born in 2008, making him just 16 – is a winger and is described by City as ‘a player with explosive speed and versatile – meaning he can operate across the front line’.
McAidoo has already featured regularly for England at youth level.
So far this term – after his hat-trick against Feyenoord – he’s made 14 appearances, scoring seven goals and making five assists.
Certainly, with the way he’s started at City, he’s someone to keep a close eye on.
