Manchester City have reportedly made fresh contact over securing a potential transfer deal for Bradley Barcola.
Last month, it was reported that City have an interest in signing the Olympique Lyon winger and see him as a potential replacement for Riyad Mahrez.
Now though, one journalist has shared the latest behind-the-scenes development regarding this particular transfer story.
City make fresh contact for Barcola transfer

In a recent Twitter post, journalist Gianluigi Longer had this to say on the matter.
He said: “Fresh contact between Manchester City #MCFC and Olympique Lione #OL for Bradley #Barcola. He’s one of the City’s target.”
Last season saw the 20-year-old make 31 senior appearances for Lyon across Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France, scoring seven goals and delivering 10 assists along the way.

Hailed for his “superb” performances in the league last season by talent scout Jacek Kulig on Twitter, Barcola ended the campaign with the second-highest number of carries into the penalty area (30) at Lyon, which shows how much of an attack-minded winger he is.
With that in mind and the fact that they have lost a winger like Mahrez who proved over numerous years that he can be a consistent goal threat, it’s easy to see why City have Barcola on their radar and have been in contact over a potential transfer deal.
However, given how young he is and how he’s only recently had his first taste of senior European football, it could be a bit of a gamble for City to sign him and expect him to be the finished article straight away.
