Manchester City are reportedly one of the clubs in talks with the agent of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Heorhiy Sudakov.
The Manchester club have a track record when it comes to signing young players from foreign clubs in recent years such as Josko Gvardiol, Jeremy Doku and Sergio Gomez.
Now though, despite being halfway through the latest January transfer window, the Blues have set their sights on landing another young talent, but have some serious competition in doing so.
City one of the clubs eyeing Sudakov transfer

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, City, as well as other clubs such as Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Napoli and Juventus, have all been in contact with Sudakov’s entourage over a potential summer transfer move.
The report also adds that Shakhtar would not accept anything less than €40m (£30m) to sell the player.
At the age of 21, Sudakov has made 85 senior appearances for the Ukrainian club across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and supplying 13 assists along the way.
This season has seen the youngster score three goals in 18 appearances from midfield, one of which came against Barcelona in Shakhtar’s 2-1 defeat to the Spanish club at the Nou Camp in the group stage of the Champions League back in October.
To give more of an insight into the player, football talent scout Jacek Kulig described Sudakov as an “advanced/roaming playmaker,” who is also a “quick & agile, highly technical & creative, skilful dribbler & carrier” with an “exquisite first touch” and someone who “operates comfortably with his weaker left foot.”
With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why so many of Europe’s big clubs have got their eyes on the Shakhtar star ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Looking ahead to the summer, if City feel that Sudakov is someone they think can make waves in their side, securing a deal for him ahead of their European rivals could be a smart move for them to make.
