Manchester City have reportedly made an approach to secure a summer transfer deal for Josko Gvardiol.
Even though the Citizens have two big games left to play before the season ends and the summer transfer window opens for business, it has been claimed that the club have already made moves behind the scenes to try and sign one player, in particular.
In a recent Twitter post from The Secret Scout, they had this to say on the matter.
He said: “Understand Man City have made Josko Gvardiol one of the key players to sign at centre-back this summer.
“The club have spoken with the player’s representatives who is keen to join. Both confident deal will be done this summer.”

After making 52 senior appearances for Dinamo Zagreb, the 21-year-old joined RB Leipzig back in the 2021 summer transfer window.
Since then, the defender has made 87 appearances for the German club across all competitions, scoring five goals and delivering three assists.
In fact, one of those goals came against City back in their Champions League round-of-16 first leg clash, which ultimately led to Micah Richards describing the two-legged battle the Leipzig defender had with Erling Haaland as “fantastic.”
Having reportedly seen a €80m (£68m) bid rejected for the centre-back last summer, this shows just how keen the Citizens are to have him in their squad.
Across his 30 Bundesliga appearances with Leipzig this season, the defender ended the campaign with the second-highest total of clearances (76) and aerial duels won (43) at the club, as well as having the highest passing accuracy percentage (89.1%) out of players that attempted more than two passes.
Bearing in mind how four of City’s current defenders are in the top 10 of Premier League players with the highest passing accuracy percentages, it’s easy to see why they have apparently identified Gvardiol as a potential transfer target.
