Manchester City could unearth their next Jack Grealish by giving Carlos Borges his first taste of senior football next season.
The Citizens have shown, in the case of Grealish, that they are not against spending money to bring new players to the club.
On the other hand, they have also given players from their youth ranks, such as Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Rico Lewis, the chance to prove themselves in the first team.
City could have their next Grealish with Borges

One player they could do the same with next season and potentially see become their next version of Grealish is Borges.
Since joining the Manchester club from Sporting CP’s youth system back in 2014, the 19-year-old has made 79 appearances for City’s youth sides across all competitions, scoring 55 goals and delivering 42 assists along the way.

Last season saw the winger, who Brian Barry-Murphy described as being an “exceptional” player, find the net 29 times and supply 18 assists in 33 appearances, showing how impressive he is in terms of making goal contributions.
This also suggests to us that the teenager could be ready to make the step up to senior football and highlights why he has had Nottingham Forest linked with a transfer move for him during the current summer window.
Even though Grealish has been City’s first-choice left-winger, having Borges in the squad and giving him the opportunity to show what he can do at the senior level could end up being a smart move from Pep Guardiola and potentially save the club a lot of money if they want to have a new winger at their disposal for the future.
