Manchester City are reportedly confident that Oscar Bobb will sign a new contract at the Etihad Stadium soon.
The attacker has become a regular figure in City’s senior squad this season and has featured in seven games across all competitions, chipping in with one assist along the way.
Now though, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding the Norwegian’s current situation at the club and what his future could look like.
City confident of new Bobb contract

According to a recent report from 90 Min, City are close to agreeing a contract with Bobb that would secure his long-term future at the Etihad Stadium.
The report also added that the 20-year-old’s emergence this season has attracted interest from the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen, although City are not concerned about this and are confident of sealing a new deal for Bobb, who is apparently very happy at the club, in the coming weeks.
After arriving at the Manchester club back in 2019 from Valerenga, the winger went on to make 114 appearances for City’s youth sides, scoring 31 goals and delivering 33 assists in the process.
Back in July, Bobb featured for Pep Guardiola’s side in their 5-3 preseason win over Yokohama F. Marinos and delivered a performance that was described as “unbelievable” by the City boss.
With that in mind and the fact that City sold Cole Palmer in the summer and loaned out James McAtee again at the same time, it’s easy to see why Bobb has been getting some game time in the first team this season.
Now that the club are looking to offer him a new contract, this shows just how much they believe in him and his ability.
Moving forward, if the club can get the youngster to sign a new deal in the near future and then see him become a more prominent figure in the team, this will be a big positive for everyone at the club.
