It has been reported that Manchester City are now keen on signing Eberechi Eze as their alternative to Lucas Paqueta.
This comes from the Daily Mail journalist Jack Gaughan, after it was claimed on Thursday that City’s move for the West Ham United attacker was ‘off.’
Now, it has been revealed that Manchester City are interested in making a move for Eberechi Eze.
Jack Gaughan: Manchester City now plotting Eberechi Eze transfer
Branded as ‘technically gifted’ by The Athletic, the 25-year-old is one of the most talented midfielders in the Premier League.
Last season, despite Crystal Palace having finished in 11th place and battling relegation for much of the campaign, the Englishman managed to score 10 goals and also chip in with four assists for his side.
Now, it has come to the fore that Manchester City have targeted the signing of Eberechi Eze this summer, as the Eagles are expected to demand in excess of £70 million to sell him.

Interestingly, it has also been revealed that the treble-winners have been keeping an eye on him for the past six months.
For now, City are yet to have formalise their interest in his signature.
Eberechi Eze would be a smart pickup for the Sky Blues
First things first, Eberechi Eze would make for a brilliant addition for Manchester City, considering Kevin De Bruyne is set to be sidelined through injury for the next couple of months.
With Phil Foden having all the creative burden on his shoulders after the Belgian’s injury, the Crystal Palace attacker would make life much easier for him.
In addition, Eze is also capable of deputising on the wing, and could provide cover for Grealish.
It is also key to note that the former Milwall technician is excellent off-the-ball, which could allow him to sit alongside Rodri out of possession in Manchester City’s 4-4-2 shape when defending.
Looking at all angles, Eze would make for a smart signing.
