Manchester City have set their valuation for Bernardo Silva to try and ward off clubs from signing him this summer.

Once again, the midfielder has found himself being linked with a move away from the Manchester club, with the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal interested in him.

In fact, the Citizens have apparently turned down an offer from the French club for the 28-year-old, who they are keen to keep hold of.

Now though, some extra behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding the treble winner’s stance on the player and his future.

According to a recent report from talkSPORT, City have set a price tag of £70m for Silva to try and put off clubs that may look to take him away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.

The report also adds that the European champions are eager to see the Portuguese international sign a new deal at the club, with his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2025.

Since joining Pep Guardiola’s side back in the 2017 summer transfer window from AS Monaco in a deal worth a reported fee of £43m, the midfielder has gone on to make 306 appearances for City in total.

Across those appearances, Silva has scored 55 goals, provided 59 assists and won numerous trophies along the way.

Last season saw the versatile midfielder showcase how important he is for Pep Guardiola’s side as he featured in all but six of their matches in all competitions.

With the Spaniard also describing Silva as an “exceptional” player and one of the best he has ever coached, this shows why the club are keen to keep hold of him this summer.

Moving forward, if this apparent price tag has the desired effect and puts off clubs from making a move for the player this summer and he ends up staying at the Etihad for another season, this will undoubtedly be a big positive for the club.
