Manchester City have reportedly set a price tag for Cole Palmer amid recent uncertainty surrounding his future at the Etihad Stadium.
With the winger saying he wants to play regularly football this season either at City or elsewhere, as well as Pep Guardiola admitting he could either be sold permanently or remain at the Etihad Stadium this summer, Palmer’s future is currently up in the air.
Having recently been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding the Manchester club’s current stance on the player.
City want over £30m for Palmer
According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, the European champions want over £30m for the winger, which could apparently be too expensive for the likes of Dortmund to try and secure a deal.
The 21-year-old was a fairly regular figure in Guardiola’s side last season as he made 25 appearances across all competitions but was only able to score one goal and deliver one assist.
However, the Englishman has now scored two goals in three appearances this season, showing his importance to the team and how much they have relied on him in recent weeks.
With that in mind, it’s easy to see why the Citizens have apparently set a fairly significant price tag on the youngster, who Guardiol recently raved about in terms of his quality and previous performances.
Looking ahead to the rest of the summer transfer window, we feel that the club should keep hold of Palmer and keep giving him the chance to prove himself and see if he can continue his impressive start to the season.
