Manchester City have reportedly offered Kyle Walker an improved contract to try and keep him at the club.
Since the previous season ended, the right-back has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich and had even verbally agreed to join the German side last month.
After the Citizens had reportedly offered the Englishman a fresh deal to keep him at the Etihad Stadium, a fresh development has emerged regarding the club’s efforts to keep hold of their defender.
City make improved contract offer for Walker

According to a recent report from The Athletic, City have tabled a second contract offer to Walker, which is financially bigger than the first and the one that Bayern had offered, to try and keep the 33-year-old where he is.
The report also adds that “Bayern have been frustrated at the lack of progress on the deal and there is a growing fear in Bavaria that Walker may remain at City this summer.”
During City’s recent pre-season tour of Asia, Pep Guardiola revealed that the treble winners will fight to make sure the full-back, who he previously described as being a “fantastic” player, stays at the club, which is what we feel this second contract offer shows.

Arriving at the club back in 2017, the England international has gone on to make 254 appearances for the Manchester club across all competitions, winning five Premier League titles along the way.
Having been selected to captain the treble winners during their 2-1 pre-season win over Thomas Tuchel’s side last month, this shows how important he is to the club and how much they value him.
Moving forward, we feel that if the 33-year-old were to put pen to paper on this proposed deal and put to bed any doubts over his future, this would be a big positive for everyone connected to the club.
