Manchester City should forget about signing Michael Olise this summer and should instead consider securing a transfer deal for his Crystal Palace teammate Eberechi Eze.
In the past few days, it was reported that City and Chelsea are interested in signing Olise this summer.
However, we feel that the Citizens may be better off looking to launch a move for the Frenchman’s Palace teammate, Eze, instead.
The 25-year-old joined the south London club back in the 2020 summer transfer window from Queens Park Rangers and has since gone on to make 93 appearances for the Eagles across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and delivering 11 assists along the way.

City’s next De Bruyne?
The previous Premier League campaign saw the Englishman end the season with more shots on target (25 vs 14) than Olise as well as making more goal-creating actions (16 vs 13) than the 20-year-old.
He also made more recoveries (180 vs 165) and committed fewer fouls (27 vs 28) than his Palace teammate, showing that not only is he more effective when it comes to scoring and setting up goals, but he also does more out of possession as well.
Described as an “exciting” player by Jamie Redknapp, Eze could potentially be seen as the next version of Kevin De Bruyne should the 32-year-old find himself leaving the Etihad Stadium in the near future given how useful he has proved himself to be in front of goal from the midfield.

Specifically, having made 356 appearances for the Manchester club, De Bruyne has scored 96 goals and provided 152 assists, which highlights the sort of bar Eze would have to reach if he would want to be the ideal heir for the Belgian.
Overall, if City end up missing out on Olise and still feel the need to strengthen their midfield or attacking options, we feel that launching a move for the Englishman could be a very smart piece of business.
