Manchester City have lost their second game in a row in the Premier League – and it was another off day for Erling Haaland.

City had the chance to go back top, after Tottenham Hotspur won yesterday.

But City were just not at it at the Emirates.

City had the lion’s share of possession.

But the team just struggled to break Arsenal down, with Gabriel and William Saliba both very good at the back for the Gunners.

The quality of the chances wasn’t particularly high.

And Pep Guardiola has a few things to think about the international break.

Straight after the game, Haaland checked in with supporters on social media…

Erling Haaland sends message to Manchester City fans after Arsenal defeat

Haaland was very well marshalled today by Arsenal’s defenders, just as he was by Wolves’ last weekend.

The Norwegian is just going through a bit of a tricky spell at the moment.

It was perhaps inevitable.

What Haaland did last season was out of this world, and it was always going to be difficult to go at hte same rate of scoring.

Teams are wising up, and at times doubling up.

But Haaland is remaining positive, judging by the message he has the just put on social media.

Haaland wrote: “Not the way we wanted to go into the international break, but we will bounce back together, as always.”

City fans will hope the Norwegian will come back after the international break refreshed and with fire in his belly.

It will be annoying him that the goals have dried up a little lately.

He will no doubt be absolutely determined to start firing on all cyllinders again.
