Pep Guardiola has lavished praise on to Bernardo Silva, who put in an absolute masterclass for Manchester City in their 3-0 thumping of Bayern Munich.
The £43 million (BBC Sport) man got on the scoresheet against Thomas Tuchel’s side but besides that, his majestic dribbling, tireless pressing and relentless workrate made him one of, if not the best player on the pitch.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was awestruck by how influential Bernardo Silva is from a holistic perspective, as was on show against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.
Guardiola raves about Bernardo after Manchester City beat Bayern
As highlighted in some of our biggest talking points from the contest, the Portuguese international simply ticks way too many boxes in his game, which makes him the ultimate big-game player.
After Manchester City ultimately made light work of Bayern Munich, Pep Guardiola could not help but wax lyrical about Bernardo Silva.
“Bernardo is a football player. What does it mean? He will play everywhere, every position, even left-back, everywhere because he understands the game in every action Bernardo has the ability to read the game”, he told the club’s official website.
“But Bernardo is such an important player, especially in these type of games, he can play holding midfield, he can play false nine. We need this type of player. And lately he has scored a lot of goals. Always he lacked that a little bit.
“He is a player if you say play in this position, you don’t have to say anything else, he understands everything. Understands everything. From my point of view, I was lucky as a manager to have incredible, outstanding players at Barcelona and Munich. He is one of the best players I ever trained in my life. Ever. He is something special, a special football player.”
As Bernardo Silva starred for Manchester City against Bayern, the fact that Pep Guardiola ranks him as high as one of the best players he has ever managed just goes to show what a one-of-a-kind player he really is.
