Grealish raves about Haaland as Manchester City beat West Ham
Not just the Englishman but it seems like every player at the Etihad Stadium was buzzing for their teammate, as they gave him a guard of honour after the clash.
Pep Guardiola, who has always defended the Norwegian against his doubters even aimed a dig at his critics after what was a poor start to life at City in his side’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Community Shield.
As Manchester City ultimately beat West Ham in comfortable fashion, Jack Grealish congratulated Erling Haaland after he made history.
“What did I tell you? What a boy! Unbelievable achievement brother!! Great win again for the boys! Onto Saturday”, he said on Twitter.
MCN View: Finding faults in Haaland is simply dismissing greatness
There has been an excessive focus on Haaland’s flaws this season rather than appreciating his remarkable impact on the Sky Blues, whilst forgetting that he is still just 22 years old.
If the youngster was already the final version of himself, there would be a case to make for him being the greatest striker of all time already.
As Jack Grealish said after Pep Guardiola’s men beat David Moyes’ side, what Erling Haaland has achieved this season is simply unbelievable.
To not just break Mohamed Salah’s 38-game goal record in the Premier League but to also surpass Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s 42-game milestones is an extraordinary feat that deserves all the praise in the world.
