Manchester City would reportedly be looking for Declan Rice money in order to sell Bernardo Silva this summer.
A few weeks ago, the feeling was that Bernardo was going to leave the Etihad, with City ready to help him go.
The player has reportedly not been happy living in Manchester for some time, and it was thought that City would not stand in Bernardo’s way this summer if he wanted to go.
But it would appear the feeling has changed slightly now.
Previously, it had been reported that City would sell Bernardo for £75 million.
But Etihad officials may now be wanting considerably more for the Portugal international.
Manchester City want Declan Rice money for Bernardo Silva
According to The Athletic, City are now more reluctant to let Bernardo leave this summer.
The club apparently now feel Bernardo could be a replacement for Ilkay Gundogan as a number eight.

It is stated that City see Rice’s move to Arsenal for £105 million as the benchmark for the 28-year-old.
City have not told Bernardo that he cannot leave the club. But they have apparently outlined just how important he is to their plans.
If he was hoping City would roll over this summer in negotiations with other clubs, then it appears he is mistaken.
Bernardo has two years left on his contract, so City are within their rights to demand a huge fee.
Whether any other club would be willing to come forward and offer ‘Declan Rice money’ though remains to be seen.
Bernardo Silva is world-class and such a stance is fair from Man City
It is good to see City getting tough over Bernardo.
He is one of the very best players in the world, and so it should take a huge fee in order for him to leave.
If Rice is going for £105 million, then you can argue that Bernardo should be going for a similar amount as a world-class versatile player.

It will just be interesting though if Bernardo decides it’s time to apply a bit of pressure on City.
If he really wants out, then maybe it will be difficult for the club to bring in a transfer fee like West Ham United got for Rice.
