After weeks of speculation around their goalkeeping situation, Manchester City eventually sealed the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain.
Previously, only seven players have played for both City and PSG; Sylvain Distin, Nicolas Anelka, Ali Benarbia, George Weah, Nadia Nadim, Alioune Toure and Djamel Belmadi.
Gianluigi Donnarumma will become the eighth player on the aforementioned list once he dons the Manchester City shirt.
Donnarumma admitted joining Manchester City excites him and much like Distin and Anelka in particular, he would be hoping to thrive at the Etihad Stadium after succeeding in Paris.
The Italian’s former teammate at PSG caught the Sky Blues’ eye as well.
Bradley Barcola was on Man City’s shortlist to replace Tottenham target Savinho
The name in question is Bradley Barcola, who Manchester City scouted initially in June.
But the links eventually died down as he went on to win a historic treble with the French champions.
However, Foot Mercato have reported that when Tottenham were interested in signing Savinho, Barcola was high on Manchester City’s shortlist in the summer.

Eventually, Manchester City chose to keep Savinho and they also did not make any progress in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola.
Besides, PSG had no intention of parting ways with the 23-year-old.
Barcola transfer news
However, things change quickly in football and come next year, the former Lyon winger will only have two years left on his contract.
Considering Tottenham could try signing Savinho in January, one would expect Manchester City to try making another move for Barcola.
Recently, Fabrizio Romano claimed on his YouTube channel that PSG intend to extend the Frenchman’s contract.
“Now, a new contract of Bradley Barcola at Paris Saint-Germain will be one of the topics to be discussed in the upcoming weeks. So, this is one to watch. Paris Saint-Germain are aware of the interest from the Premier League.”
Romano added: “Paris Saint-Germain know very well from their experience that when top clubs want a player, it can be, not just in one window, can also be in the future so Paris Saint-Germain want to make sure they can find a solution for Bradley Barcola. But Paris Saint-Germain are working hard for a new contract for Bradley Barcola.”
