A fresh revelation has emerged surrounding one of Manchester City’s exit-linked players after the ongoing Copa America draws to a close.
Argentina and Colombia are set to take on each other in the final of the tournament at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Monday.
Julian Alvarez will be Manchester City’s one and only representative in the contest.
The £14 million man scored in Argentina’s 2-0 win against Canada in the semi-final of the competition. So far, the City striker has scored two goals at the tournament.

Fabrizio Romano provides update about Julian Alvarez and his future
In June, Fabrizio Romano stated that the two-time Premier League winner feels he is at a “crucial” stage of his career where he is looking for more regular playing time.
So much so that it was claimed a few days later that Alvarez has been open to leaving City for a few months.
On Wednesday, it was revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs that Paris Saint-Germain’s attempts to sign the Argentine from Manchester City this summer should not be ruled out.
Last month, Fabrizio Romano also confirmed Chelsea’s interest in signing the World Cup winner, even if they were yet to have made direct contact to secure his services.
Now, it has been revealed by Romano that Manchester City will speak to Alvarez’s camp to discuss his future after the Copa America comes to an end.
The Italian journalist has reiterated that the club intend to keep Alvarez at the Etihad Stadium.
Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that while the highly-rated goalscorer wishes to play more regularly, City have never intended to sell him or set an asking price.
Ideal for all parties involved if Julian Alvarez decides Man City future quickly
Ideally, Alvarez returns to Manchester City, makes up his mind about his future instantly and all parties involved can proceed accordingly.
However, the more the former River Plate striker delays his decision, the likelier it will be that a transfer saga will ensue.
Alvarez is a key squad member at City and as a result, after a certain point in the transfer window, the club will likely decide not to sell him due to having little to no time to sign a replacement if his heart is set on an exit.
Unless Pep Guardiola has a plan in place to make the Calchin-born marksman a starter — which he was for much of last season, it will be interesting to see whether the player remains interested in staying put or decides that his time is up at the club.
For Alvarez’s sake as well — the quicker he decides where his future lies, the more focused he will be in pre-season and ready for the following campaign — whether that is under Guardiola’s keen eye at Manchester City or elsewhere.
