Manchester City are reportedly set to earn enough from two deadline-day player departures to cover most of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s transfer fee.
Manchester City have been busy on transfer deadline day, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.
The Citizens have been very active in both the summer window and the January window as they sought to reshape their team for a new era.
Now, with Gianluigi Donnarumma set to come in, it has been reported that his fee will effectively be covered by two departures on the same day.

Manchester City could earn £25million from Ederson and Manuel Akanji deals
Journalist Jack Gaughan has reported on X that Donnarumma is set to cost Man City around £26million, according to club sources.
He then said Ederson’s move to Fenerbahce is done and should fetch the Citizens up to £12million.
And finally, Gaughan said Manuel Akanji’s loan switch to Inter Milan is also a done deal, with the potential to earn £13million next summer.

Why Manchester City fans are unhappy with Manuel Akanji deal
Akanji has been tipped for a move away from the Etihad Stadium for a number of weeks now, with Pep Guardiola deeming him surplus to requirements.
However, the deal set to take Akanji to Inter Milan has not gone down very well among some City fans.
The deal to take Akanji to Inter is a loan with option to buy, but there are two requirements that would turn the option into an obligation.
Man City need Inter to play Akanji for more than half their games and also to win the Serie A title.
This has led to City fans claiming Akanji will come back next season as they reckon those requirements will be hard for Inter to reach.
