Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola worked with Toni Kroos at Bayern Munich, and he reportedly wants the Real Madrid midfielder at the Etihad Stadium.
According to Defensa Central, Manchester City are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos in the summer of 2024.
Pep Guardiola wants Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos at Manchester City
The report in the Spanish news outlet has claimed that City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, wanted to sign Kroos in the summer of 2023.
However, the German midfielder decided to sign a new contract with Madrid and stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Kroos will become a free agent at the end of the season.

And, according to Defensa Central, City manager Pep Guardiola wants him in his squad for next season and beyond.
The report has claimed that City are willing to pay Kroos €15 million per season (£250,000-a-week) and a two-year contract or a one-year deal with an option of a further 12 months.
Guardiola worked with Kroos at Bayern Munich.
In May 2023, the former Barcelona boss described the German as “one of the best players I have ever seen and trained”, as quoted in The Independent.
My View: Toni Kroos to Manchester City won’t happen
In my view, Toni Koos is not going to end up at Manchester City in the summer of 2024.
I do not think that City are going to sign the 33-year-old, even as a free agent.
True, Rodri is a massive player and City do not have a replacement in their squad who is as good as him, but that does not mean that the Citizens are going to bring in someone in his mid-30s.
Kroos is a very good player and is still one of the best in the world, but I believe that City will – and should – find someone who is younger than him if they indeed want to sign a new central midfielder.
