It is likely that several fans and pundits alike will be offended by the former Benfica goalkeeper’s gesture and consider it disrespectful.
However, that would be simply taking it too far as title rivals, as are Manchester City and Arsenal are supposed to have a feeling of animosity towards each other and Ederson channelled that playfully towards the opposition fans.
Pep Guardiola’s side did not just beat the current league leaders; they battered them to an extent where it almost felt like the visiting side did not belong on the same pitch as them.
Especially on such occasions where so much is so on the line and one team comes out on top in the way City did, the bragging rights automatically get handed to them.
