Manchester City could complete the signing of a “world-class” player this week, according to ESPN’s Mark Ogden.
The Citizens have had a busy summer on the transfer front, strengthening their ranks throughout, but there is still work to be done.
Outgoings are expected to be on the cards, with Tottenham pushing to sign Savinho and Ederson being sought after by Galatasaray.
Should Ederson leave, there’s scope for Manchester City to bring in a replacement, and Ogden believes they’re working on it.

Manchester City expected to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma and sell Ederson “this week”
Man City have been heavily linked with Gianluigi Donnarumma in recent weeks after the Italian keeper was frozen out by Paris Saint-Germain.
Manchester City News recently confirmed that Guardiola’s side were in talks over Donnarumma and looking seriously at a move.
Ogden, speaking on ESPN, has claimed that “everything’s all agreed” between City and Donnarumma, who he described as a “world-class goalkeeper”.
However, the Ederson situation is currently holding the deal up, but Ogden thinks everything will be sorted by the weekend.
“City are waiting, he’s like in a holding pattern because they want to get it done,” said Ogden.
“Everything’s all agreed but they need to get Ederson out because they can’t have Ederson, James Trafford and Donnarumma at the club.
“So far, City have had low bids from Galatasaray, like £3million pound for Ederson, but I think Ederson won’t stay at City to be on the bench.
“So I imagine that will happen this week. Ederson will leave and Donnarumma will come in and then City have got a world-class goalkeeper.
“He doesn’t play the way that Pep likes to play with the long ball and with his feet, but he’s a great goalkeeper, so they’ll certainly be upgrading.”
How much Manchester City could pay for Gianluigi Donnarumma
Donnarumma is arguably the best goalkeeper in world football at present and, at just 26 years of age, he’s yet to reach his peak.
However, the fact his PSG contract expires next summer means his valuation has dropped significantly, meaning City are in line to get a bargain.
PSG have reportedly reduced their asking price for Donnarumma from €50million (£43million) to around €30-€35million (£26-30million).
