Manchester City are reportedly keeping an eye on the situation surrounding Napoli defender Kim Min-jae ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Pep Guardiola already has a healthy number of centre-backs in his squad but could look to bring another one in during the summer transfer period.
City eyeing Kim
According to a recent report from 90 Min, City are one of the club’s keeping an eye on Kim’s situation at Napoli, who are looking to offer him a new deal but could be willing to accept a fee of up to €60m (£52m) for the defender this summer, and could make a move for him.
The report also adds that the South Korean has a lot of admirers from the Premier League and abroad, with Manchester United being one of the more eager clubs to sign him.

Across his 34 appearances throughout Napoli’s Serie A-winning campaign, the 26-year-old has made more clearances (122) than any other player at the club as well as having the highest combined total of tackles and interceptions (95) than any other defender in the squad.
To further highlight how much of a top talent he is, Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti said this about the centre-half back in March.
He said: “Kim does at least 20 incredible things per game. When he starts the run with the ball at his feet, he can get it into the opposition penalty area in 5 seconds flat.”
With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why Napoli are keen to keep hold of their star defender and why he has half of Europe looking to secure his signature.
Moving forward, if Pep Guardiola wants to strengthen his defence for next season, securing a deal for Kim could be the best way to do it, albeit a difficult one considering the amount of interest in him.
