Manchester City reportedly have their eyes on making a potential transfer move for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich.
With 345 appearances for Bayern Munich to his name, 36 of which came under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, the 28-year-old has scored 40 goals and delivered 94 assists.
Despite still having just over two years left on his contract at the Bundesliga side, the midfielder has found himself linked with a move away from his current club.
City eyeing Kimmich move
According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) City and Barcelona have an interest in signing the Bayern midfielder, who is apparently considering leaving the German club.

The report also adds that Guardiola ‘wouldn’t hesitate’ making a move for Kimmich should the opportunity present itself, especially if current City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan leaves the club this summer.
Across his 31 league appearances this season, the German has racked up more passes into the penalty area (66) than any other player in the division, as well as the second-highest total of recoveries (244), showing how effective he can be in and out of possession.
In addition to that, only Jude Bellingham (7.58/10) has a higher overall season rating than the Bayern figure (7.5/10) according to WhoScored, further highlighting how much of an impressive player he is.
This, and the fact that Guardiola once described Kimmich as “outstanding” during their time together at Bayern, it’s easy to see why City have been mentioned with a potential move for him.
Moving forward, regardless of what happens with Gundogan this summer, we feel that if an opportunity to strike a deal with the German club to bring the 28-year-old to the Etihad, City should do all they can behind the scenes to make it happen.
