Manchester City fans are all in agreement after Jeremy Doku’s latest display for Belgium against Liechtenstein.
The Red Devils hammered their hosts 6-0 on Thursday night, with the three points leaving Rudi Garcia’s team third in their World Cup qualifying group after three matches, although the European nation have two games in hand on table-toppers Wales.
Doku started for Belgium against Liechtenstein and went on to play 61 minutes in the contest, finishing the match with the most completed dribbles (6) and the most duels won (8) on the pitch.
However, the rest of the winger’s stats did not please Man City fans, who have made it clear what they want from the 23-year-old after his latest display for his country.

Man City fans want more goal contributions from Jeremy Doku
Doku impressed for Man City at the FIFA Club World Cup as the winger produced two goals, and heading into the 2025/26 campaign, it was clear that the 23-year-old was Pep Guardiola’s preferred option for the left wing.
The Belgian started in that role against Wolves on the opening weekend of the season, but he has not impressed since.
With Belgium playing Liechtenstein and Kazakhstan during the current international break, it was the perfect opportunity for Doku to gain some confidence ahead of returning to the Etihad Stadium, but the winger failed to score or assist against the European minnows on Thursday night.
Man City fans made it clear after the contest that they need Doku to start producing more, with one supporter commenting on X (formerly known as Twitter): “But no assists or goals, which is what I judge a winger on.”
A second supporter of the Manchester club said: “Let’s be honest, we know Doku lacks an end product even when we signed him. He was all flash and no end product when he first debuted for Belgium. Pep thought he would develop, but that didn’t happen.”
“He should leave dribbling for now, dribble stat is not for elite football, like Kevin De Bruyne, what’s the essence of having completed passes without creating chances. He should start thinking of impacting games with chance creation, assists, and goals,” a third Man City fan added.
Before a final Man City supporter would post: “He needs to start racking up goals and assists. He’s a winger, we can’t keep living on these most dribbles and duels won if it’s not leading to G/A.”

Jeremy Doku’s performance against Liechtenstein in numbers
Doku admitted ahead of the Liechtenstein match that he has not been at his best so far this season, but the Belgian star will not get time to reach that level as there are several wingers at Man City ready to take his place.
Thursday night’s match was the perfect chance for the City star to produce some goal contributions to gain confidence, but the 23-year-old would end the match with none, in addition to having just one shot, no shots on target, and creating no big chances.
He ended the match with an xG of 0.04 and an xA of only 0.06, which is atrocious for a creative winger against a smaller team.
Doku had some very positive metrics, but at the end of the day, fans and pundits are going to judge him on goals and assists; he just needs to ask Jack Grealish about this.
